Programming and Schematic Design

At the program Stage, activity focuses on determining the "program", or set of needs that a building needs to fulfill.
After establishing the program for a project, the focus in the architectural design process shifts from what the problems are to how to solve those problems.

Schematic Design

During schematic design, the focus is on the "scheme", or overall high-level design, and on creating a coherent solution that encompass the project as a whole. This stage also involves establishing a project schedule, as well as analyzing the site in question in order to arrive at feasible and viable design options.

Design Development

During the design development phase the sceme is refined into the final design. In previous phase, the focus has been on the project as a whole.
During Design Development, it is important to give individual attention to each aspect, each space and each detail of the project.

Construction Documentation

At this stage of the architectural design process, the focus shifts from design to communicating the design and providing all information necessary for construction. must effectively and creatively address long-term issues of growth and change.
